The theme I would pick would be roaring 1920's ! EVERY ONE LOVE'S THE 20's in New York the dresses, the jobs, the relationships! I wish I lived in the roaring 20's! Why? You can also get a feel of history and what happened during that time frame.

Our last page roll over doesn't show and when you click our other pages those also doesn't show up. It is because the first letter of all of our pages are capitalized. Which was warning we got in the beginning of class. I am so proud of Hailey for redoing our navigation I love it so much. Every time I click our page is like oohh ahhhh! I am least proud of our main pictures because they suck. But we will fix them no worries. It was so hard trying to drill the log! It was fun stamping the spoon one of my favorites. Hailey's whisk shines really pretty in the dark also. Page 2:
Whisk While talking about her grandparents home, Susan Strasberg once said, “I loved their home. Everything smelled older, worn but safe; the food aroma had baked itself into the furniture.” The first scent received when you walk into a grandmother house is a freshly baked dessert. Whether it is cookies, cake or something new she decided o make, there was always a fresh smelling, delicious tasting food. My grandma’s house was always like this. She even let me bake with her. Although, when you have a small child mixing the ingredients, things do not quite mix together like they’re supposed to do. So, grandma would always have to finish the mixing. But one thing I could always finish would be pouring the batter into the pan. But grandma would always handle putting it in the oven and taking it out, because that’s too hot! Grandma and I each had our own specific jobs, except mixing. Mixing was the one that we needed to do together. Since my grandma means so much to me, I am repurposing a whisk into a candle holder in honor of her. To most people a whisk is just a cooking utensil, but to me it has meaning because I used it so much with my grandma. Not only will the whisk hold a candle that will light up the room, but it will hold the memories that will light up my world. The Process Materials -string -ribbon -whisk -tea light candle Steps 1.) Tie string to handle of whisk. 2.) Wrap the ribbon around handle of whisk and make a bow. 3.) Tie string onto something sturdy and connected to ceiling (such as ceiling fan). 4.) Place the tea light into the bottom, or larger part, of the whisk. 5.) Light the candle and enjoy the warmth. Page:3 Spoon “I’ve realized you can use a fork as a spoon if you use it rapidly enough.” said by John Mayer. We chose a spoon the simplest of spoons you can find. It can be a measuring spoon, a spoon in your dish washer, or simply a spoon in your cabinet. I selected this spoon because it brings me sweet memories of my brother Andre. He is a sergeant in the army and stationed in Germany so we don’t see him often. He would always add butter in his pancake mix. He would stir it so swiftly I thought he was dash from the Incredibles. I use to run in his room when I was younger while he was sleeping, and snatch the covers off. I would beg and plead for him to make his infamous pancakes. I would tell him “hey and don’t forget the spoon tricks”. He would grunt in frustration of his half sleepiness, but growling tummy. He would mope down the stairs to the kitchen and start his special pancakes. My brother serves our country in almost everything he does. I have figured out a way to thank him. I have found out a way to benefit him as being a great big brother to me these seventeen years of my life. I have decided to get spoons and stamp messages on them to enlighten his day. They would say “I love you”, “pancakes”, “best big brother”, “I can’t thank you enough”, etc. So every time that my brother cooks especially his special pancakes he can think of our memories and how much he means to me. Oddly enough spoons bring meaning to my life. It represents my brother he always took care of me he raised me as more than a little sister he raised as if I was his daughter. My brother has always put me first before any decision. As he would do the same for his country he is my role model. He is my father figure he was born to be a leader. Every step I make will be for me but also for him. I love my soldier and these spoons will add an even greater meaning to my brother’s life. I will make him a proud brother as I am already a proud sister. The Process List of Materials v Metal Stamps (Impress Art) v Bench Block v Hammer v Tape v Markers Step one: Put a towel or blanket on top of your bench block. Take the spoon to and center it on your bench block then tape it down! (Please do not cover the spoon with the tape by placing it to high.) So make sure you know where you want to put your words. Then line the top of the tape where you would like to place your words. You are more than welcome to grab a pen, or marker to help you know exactly where you want your letters. Step two: You can start from either way working from the center outward to get just the right spacing or just doing it vertical. I stamp the entire letter without a tail first. ( It is perfectly fine to skip a letter and go back just leave enough space for it.) Usually you would use a new piece of tape for your letters with tails so you can line up the tops. Step 3 once you get your alignment right and make sure it is right. Now you want to hold the letter in the right position and grab the hammer and go for the pounding. (Now be careful of your little piggy’s.) You may need to rotate the spoon to get the right position which is fine your letters should still come out the same. Step 4 So this is when you get your marker to darken the words on your spoon. You want to get all the way inside the letters (make sure you color all inside your letters.) Step 5 You can use a sponger, cloth, and or paper towel to get all the access off marker off of your spoon. Now you have completed your hand stamped spoons that you can use for whipping pancakes, baked goods, or even mixing your coffee. Page 4 Log “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart”. Said by Helen Keller. We repurposed a log with dark lines with the deepest crevices just to show how much this log has been through. Then we counted the very ends of the log where we also found out its’ age. We wanted to show just how much the world has been through all of its trials and tribulations. So we chose a log the log represents just how old the world really is. The crevices show what we have done to hurt the earth. We drilled a hole in the log to show change because the hole wasn’t there before. We set a candle inside the log to show that we will make a change. A log needs to be repurposed because it is cut off from a tree which once gave us oxygen so you need to find a greater meaning to why you cut something that was once so important to us. We need to show a sign to society that we are changing, and so is the world. So Hailey and I put a candle inside of the log to show that the world is sincere to us. When someone passes away we light candles and say in loving memory of. So we light a candle for the burning flame inside of us that will never die out. The light inside of us that will drive us to make the world a better place to push us to recycle, to reuse, and to repurpose. A small log that Hailey and I found adds a meaning to our life as just an encouragement to change! To help! People are so naive to such a big cause. Every time we light this candle inside this log it makes an even larger passion to get the word out to our peers. If everyone could participate in creating a greater a world it would be a better place. The Process Materials - Small tree trunk - LED tea light candle - Electric drill Steps 1.) Hollow out the tree with the electric drill 2.) Clean up the insides with your hands. 3.) Decorate as you please. 4.) Place candle in the middle. 5.) Light the candle and enjoy the warmth. The first page of website turned out ok I'm not too happy with it because it is not what I imagined it to be. I was really big on changing our navigation to the side of the page. Also our background is really boring to me. What my favorite feature is our roll overs I think they are the cutest thing, I can't stop putting my mouse on top of drips of wax. Least favorite is our footer I wanted our footer to be simple with our twitter and pinterest icon located inside. I don't like all the picture icons they look tacky. The changes I will make in the future is probably keep our background due to it being busy website anyway. But changing the footer maybe to buttons. And also changing the page layout. I rate our page a 5 only because it is not what I pictured at all.
So far we are thinking about having our navigation run down the side. Then a main box will be in the middle with all of our content. We will be using iframe to accomplish that. At the bottom of the page we have a footer where would link our facebook and our twitter. Still not sure if we want a banner or a logo. We are thinking about making it a candle then the rollovers will be on a table coming out of the candle. However, we may want a banner because our background is so busy. We are still figuring things out.
Our three re-purposed items are a whisk, a spoon, and a tree log. The whisk will be spread out and we will put a candle directly in the middle. The spoon we will be pushed forward and the candle will be set on top. And the third item will be a log which we will hollow out with a drill. And a candle will be set inside of it. Each item will become a candle holder. The main color of our logo is a light tan. It represents a candle that we light for the people, and situations we find sincere to us. The hex code is #cca15c. The thoughts on the rendering process is always hard for me. I hate going in between the lines and trying to get as close as you can to the outline. My hand isn't steady enough to work with the brush tool. So I use the quick selection tool for basically everything, so I can get the perfect look for my picture. Also the eye dropper tool has came in handy when I need the exact color of a object to match the other. Or taking a picture from Google and needing the color from that. And also the zoom in tool to see exactly what i'm doing to the image.
